Estudió arquitectura y fotografía en Monterrey. Fundó el Taller Multinacional en la Ciudad de México junto con Fernanda Mejía y realizó proyectos en Colombia. Durante su carrera artística ha sido acreedor a 13 becas y reconocimientos internacionales. Ha participado en más de 140 exposiciones colectivas en museos y centros culturales en México y en el extranjero.
En 2008 comenzó un proyecto peculiar, una serie de paisajes y retratos realizados con una tinta preparada con cenizas humanas. Todo inició en el municipio de Cali en Colombia, donde Miguel colocó un anuncio solicitando donaciones de cenizas de colombianos fallecidos. Al no tener buena respuesta, hizo que el contexto de la obra se dramatizara aún más, enfatizando el fuerte apego que la sociedad le tiene a sus muertos. Detrás de estas piezas hay historias y tradiciones de una cultura hacia sus muertos. Durante la reflexión artística para la realización de esta serie, Miguel utilizó las cenizas diluidas como tinta, con el mismo procedimiento que la tinta china. La serie, además de haberse presentado en Colombia, fue exhibida en Proyectos Monclova en México y Drawing Room en Madrid.

He studied Architecture and Photography in Monterrey, founded Taller Multinacional in Mexico City along with Fernanda Mejía and worked in projects in Colombia. During his artistic career he has been given 13 scholarships and international awards. He has participated in more than 140 collective exhibitions in museums and cultural centers both in Mexico and internationally.
In 2008 he started an unusual project: a series of landscapes and portraits made with ink prepared with human ashes. It all began in Cali, Colombia, where Miguel placed an ad where he asked for donations of ashes from diseased Colombians. After little success, he dramatized even more his work's context, emphasizing the strong attachment society has for their dead. Behind this piece, stories and cultural traditions can be found. During the artistic reflection in order to create the series, Miguel used the ashes that he diluted with the same technique as Chinese ink. The series was shown in Colombia, and also in Proyectos Monclova in Mexico and Drawing Room in Madrid.
